The Milano Jewelryweek event, held in October 2023, marks

the meeting between Traumart.ua | Anton Sokolov and Between the Twigs | Silvia Bianchi.

 

Anton, a dentist, fleeing the war in Ukraine, a victim of a bombing raid on his hometown of Kharkiv, after healing from his war wounds, decides to follow his lifelong dream of becoming a goldsmith, like his father. @traumart.ua, his brand, is born from the process of overcoming trauma through artistic expression, to realize his #Traum, or dream in German, his Dream.

In October 2023, visit the @betwigs Between the Twigs showroom at @milanojewelryweek. Silvia is deeply fascinated by the jewelry Anton creates with materials collected during the bombings—machine gun bullets, missile fragments and broken glass from shops and buildings—objects narrating the pain and destruction caused by war, but also Anton's feelings, doubts, fears, separation, emptiness, uncertainty, and the uncertainty of the future. Silvia decided to host Anton's creations and the nominations for the Milan Jewellery Week Awards. Anton exhibits his creations in Milan and is awarded Best Jewelry Art and Craft by the president of the goldsmiths of the Confederazione Nazionale Artigianato. This success has prompted Silvia to dedicate an event to Traumart, on the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, on February 28, 2025

The event was an immersive, chronological journey, through the phases of the war and Anton's life—his wedding in the rubble of the bombed city, his injury, his escape to Germany to heal his wounds, his rebirth with recovery, and his decision to dedicate himself to goldsmithing—engaging a wide audience.
