L’Âme Océan The Veil of Thetis.png

Aurona ores | Tetide

Handmade and one-of-a-kind, this pendant is hallmarked and numbered. Limoges porcelain and third-firing platinum preserve a 240-million-year-old story, when the Dolomites were a tropical archipelago submerged in the sea. A geological transformation turning ancient coral reefs into majestic UNESCO peaks, whose profile mirrors the very horizon line of the mountains.

Richfree | L’Âme Océan | Veil of Thetis

The Veil of Thetis is a one-of-a-kind sculptural brooch that can be converted into a pendant, blending the artist’s Ligurian and Sicilian roots in a tribute to Thetis, the sea goddess and primordial mother. The sea is experienced here as a generative abyss and a mutable womb that guides the Metamorphosis of the Feminine. The veiled face of a nymph of Thetis – a symbol of a universal embrace and a profound inner vision – celebrates a woman who, like the ocean, knows how to flow and change continuously. The piece is completed by a matching pendant necklace.

Material: ceramic and clay with inlays of natural shell and 18th-century antique coral with rock concretions, faux leather backing and crystal border; Botswana agate, carnelian and baroque freshwater pearls, natural shells

Technique: mixed media, multi-material sculptural bas-relief, hand-modelled; mixed-assembly setting

When the medusa of this species is physically damaged or experiences stresses such as starvation, instead of dying it shrinks in on itself, reabsorbing its tentacles and losing the ability to swim. It then settles on the seafloor as a blob-like cyst. This blob develops into a new polyp - the jellyfish's previous life stage - and after maturing, medusae bud off.

The process behind the jellyfish's remarkable transformation is called transdifferentiation and is extremely rare.

An immersive experience as a dynamic, ever-evolving process, exploring transformation as continuous evolution, across form, language, aesthetics, and material.

The project features female designers and artists, highlighting the role of women in the worlds of design and craftsmanship by combining artisanal tradition with innovation in material usage.

The designers approach the theme of transformation from diverse perspectives: ranging from artisanal heritage and material regeneration to the processes of change found in nature.

The sea is connecting these projects, as a system in constant, ceaseless flux, shaped by millennia of fluctuating global ocean levels that continuously redraw coastlines and influence marine ecosystems.

This turquoise perfectly embodies the concept of water that

I developed after taking up the practice of Taiji and the study of Chinese culture—sea water that constantly shifts form through the qualities of flowing, waves and eddies.

A ring that evokes the allure of the fighting fish,

where the grace of the fins contrasts with a warrior spirit.

A dialogue between beauty and combat,

between apparent delicacy and indomitable strength.
